Half Marathon Runnners & Walkers
Start at Jarvis Creek Park and take participants down Natures Way and Pembroke Rd and back. At the corner of Pembroke Rd and Nature's Way the course will turn left back towards Jarvis Creek Park It will then enter the bike run thru Jarvis Creek Park around the lake to enter Cross Island Parkway behind the park thru back gate.Once on the Cross Island Pkwy participants will head towards corner of Palmetto Bay Rd and Arrow Rd running on Cross Island Pkwy thru toll plaza and over Cross Island Bridge towards Crossings Park.
At the bottom of the bridge ( prior to Palmetto Bay Rd and Arrow Rd) the course will turn left on to the bike path towards Crossings Park running behind Crossings Park towards Powerline Rd ( on left just past Crossings Park ) which runs parallel to Arrow Rd. At the end of Powerline Rd the course will turn left onto Arrow Rd heading towards Dunagans Alley.
At Dunagans Alley the course will turn around and return on via Arrow Rd and Cross Island Pkwy around toll plaza via bike path and back up Marshland Rd Entrance Ramp on Cross Island Pkwy thru a gate at the back side of Jarvis Creek Park to finish line behind the lake.
Runners in the Marathon will run the first 6.5 miles of the Half Marathon course. At Powerline Rd Marathon Runners will turn back towards Cross Island Parkway. Running over Bridge on Cross Island Pkwy around toll plaza via bike path towards Spanish Wells Rd bike path towards Spanish Wells Plantation.
Marathoners will follow Spanish Wells Rd thru Spanish Wells Plantation. Running back up Spanish Wells bike path and then make left onto OAKVIEW ROAD, running on Oakview until connecting to bike path just past Grace Community Church. Once on Spanish Wells Bike path they continue up Spanish Wells towards Hwy 278. Crossing Spanish Wells at Humane Way then running on 278 in front of Honey Horn.
At Honey Horn back gate runners will turn right and run thru Honey Horn entering the Crossing Island Parkway at front entrance of Honey Horn. Now on Cross Island Parkway runners will head towards Palmetto Bay Rd staying with traffic on the shoulder of the Cross Island Parkway.
Runners will continue past the Spanish Wells Exit Ramp on Cross Island Pkwy running over Marshland Road staying on Cross Island shoulder until passing traffic barrier at ramp entrance from Marshland Road. Once past barrier runners will head right towards outside toll lane running thru toll both towards and over the Cross Island Bridge.
Once over Cross Island Bridge runners will make a right onto Point Comfort Rd. On Point Comfort Rd runners will follow bike path heading towards circle at end of Point Comfort Rd. At circle they will then run around circle exiting at Row Boat Road. Once on Row Boat Road runners will follow then make a left at Sea Olive Road. Following Sea Olive runners will run back towards Palmetto Bay Rd. At intersection of Sea Olive and Palmetto Bay runners will turn right and return heading back towards Palmetto Bay Rd connecting with bike path at bike path cross over.
Runners will then return running back up Cross Island Bridge ( against traffic ) on bike path until Marshland Rd. At Marshland Rd runners will turn right run about 100 feet under overpass and rejoin the half marathon race course at Marshland Rd entrance ramp heading left onto the Cross Island Pkwy.
At this point runners will return up Cross Island towards Jarvis Creek Park but unlike Half Marathon - Marathon runners will run past back gate of Jarvis Creek and run towards HWY 278 making a right on 278 towards Jarvis Creek Park Rd. At Jarvis Creek Park Rd runners will turn righ on bike path entrance and run around Jarvis Creek Park on bike path towards finish behind lake.
The Hilton Head Marathon is a Boston Qualifier course.
TIME LIMIT - 6 hours for Marathon / 4 hours for Half Marathon

Each mile will be clearly marked.
Water/Sports Drinks will be available about every 2 miles.
First aid stations will be available at Start/Finish area and several locations along the course.
Port a Johns will be located near Miles 6, 15, and 20.
Please note due to safety issues with SCDOT: Runners who are on the Cross Island Parkway after six hours will have to be removed from the course. Marathon minimum pace per mile is 13:40.
